Blue skies from first light to last. One of the better bluebird days Grand Teton has offered this spring.
Gros Ventre Road
About four miles up, a female moose was working the willows along the creek edge. Feeding steadily, completely unbothered. The willows are flush right now and she was exactly where she needed to be.
Kelly Warm Springs
Stopped at Kelly for the full-range Teton view. Clear skies gave unobstructed sightlines across the entire range. One of the widest looks at the full Teton panorama you can get from a road stop.
Blacktail Ponds Overlook
Western Meadowlarks singing out across the sagebrush flats. A reliable spring stop.
Geraldine Lucas Cabin
Eight marmots active around the rock outcroppings. They were moving constantly in and out of the rocks. This is a spot most visitors drive straight past without stopping.
Oxbow Bend
American White Pelicans on the water, breeding notches clearly visible on their bills. Spring courtship well underway. Oxbow is doing exactly what it does in May.
Jackson Lake Dam
Stayed for the afternoon light. The reflection of the full Teton Range off Jackson Lake this afternoon was the best I have seen. No wind, clear sky, everything still. Not something you can plan for but today delivered.

Roads open and in good condition throughout.
